Meet Lisa

The person behind the work.

Before I’m a therapist, speaker, or founder, I’m a wife, mom, stepmom, and sports mama navigating the beautiful complexity of a blended family. My own story includes codependency, relational struggle, divorce, remarriage, and healing from the effects of addiction. I know what it means to lose yourself inside a relationship and what it takes to find your way back without giving up on connection. These experiences don’t replace my clinical training, but they deepen the compassion, honesty, and respect I bring to the work. I believe meaningful change happens when we make room for the whole story and practice new ways of relating from there.

A grounded approach to meaningful change.

I believe meaningful change requires both clinical depth and a deeply human relationship. For more than 20 years, I have sat with adults, couples, children, teens, and families through some of life’s most complicated chapters, including trauma, betrayal, addiction, relational rupture, codependency, loss of self, and significant transitions. What brings someone to therapy is rarely one isolated problem. Our lives and relationships are layered, and the work must be able to hold the whole story.

My approach integrates evidence based clinical care, Gottman informed relationship work, trauma responsive practice, attachment, somatic tools, and nervous system awareness. I create a space steady enough to hold hard truths and human enough for you to feel genuinely known, without judgment, performance, or pressure to have the right words.

Some people come to me after years of therapy with insight that has not yet translated into change. Others are entering this kind of work for the first time. I work especially well with people who are accustomed to carrying significant responsibility, including business owners, leaders, caregivers, parents, and other high capacity adults who may function well outwardly while holding far more beneath the surface.

The trust we build often allows the work to move beyond familiar explanations and surface level strategies. People find themselves naming experiences they have protected, minimized, or never fully shared, connecting patterns that once seemed unrelated, and engaging the work at a depth they may not have reached before. From there, we can create change that is not only understood in the therapy room, but practiced in relationships, decisions, leadership, and everyday life.

The experience behind the work

Experience that holds the whole picture.

Clinical depth

More than 20 years of clinical experience supporting adults, couples, children, teens, and families through trauma, relationships, addiction, family disruption, and significant life transitions. I am a licensed clinical social worker and the founder and Clinical Director of Rooted Therapies.

Relationship expertise

Gottman Levels 1 and 2 trained, with specialized experience in betrayal, broken trust, addiction, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, codependency, and the patterns that keep couples from feeling safe and connected.

Whole person practice

My work is informed by attachment, somatic practice, movement, and nervous system awareness. As a certified professional life coach and registered yoga teacher, I understand that meaningful change involves more than what we think. It also includes what we feel, practice, and carry in the body.

The Rooted Method

You do not have to dismantle your life to start living differently.

The Rooted Method helps people name the patterns, beliefs, emotions, and protective responses that quietly shape their lives, then practice more intentional choices from the roots up.

The work begins with a little more honesty.

Whether you are seeking clinical care, a deeper understanding of your relationships, or a more grounded way to live and lead, meaningful change can begin from where you are.
