Patterns
Notice the familiar loops your body and mind enter under stress.
Somatic therapy with Lisa Rowe, LCSW
A trauma-responsive, attachment-based approach to psychotherapy that makes room for the wisdom held beneath the words.
You can understand your patterns and still feel caught inside them. Somatic therapy invites the body into the conversation, creating space to notice what is happening in real time and to practice a different response with care.
A grounded definition
Somatic therapy is psychotherapy that incorporates body awareness. Together, we may notice breath, posture, sensation, impulse, tension, or settling—not to diagnose the body, but to understand how trauma, attachment, and lived experience may be showing up and what support may be needed.
Sessions remain collaborative, paced, and rooted in conversation. Lisa may invite you to pause, track a sensation, notice what changes as you speak, or experiment with a small movement or grounding practice. You are always in charge of what feels appropriate to explore.
The Rooted Method
The Rooted Method offers a compassionate framework: notice the pattern, understand its root, regulate the nervous system, repair what was wounded, reconnect with what matters, and choose differently.

In practice
Our nervous systems are shaped in relationship and supported in relationship. Somatic work can help you recognize the cues that arise around closeness, conflict, boundaries, and repair—so connection can feel more intentional and less automatic.
Somatic therapy is not a fitness program, a yoga class, or wellness coaching. While gentle movement or breath awareness may be offered when useful, the work is psychotherapy: reflective, relational, and tailored to your goals.

No. Somatic work begins with simple noticing and is adapted to your comfort, needs, and pace.
Only if it feels useful and welcome. Conversation remains central, and every invitation is optional.
Somatic approaches can be supportive for many people navigating trauma, relationship rupture, betrayal, codependency, or major life transitions. Lisa will work collaboratively with you to determine what feels appropriate for your history and goals.
You do not have to think your way through everything alone. There is room to listen, notice, and move at a pace that feels true to you.
